There is no second chance for a great first impression
Sure! That’s a hackneyed saying.
Your headshot is not just simply your photo. It’s your image and it’s the face you present to the world.
It doesn’t matter if you are self-employed or if you need a good photo of yourself to apply for the next job.
You need a convincing photo for your Xing, LinkedIn or Stepstone appearance. And even more for your profile photo on a dating site.
A convincing portrait is an essential part of presenting yourself, your company or your brand professionally.
Maybe to define yourself as a brand and to create trust in yourself, your company, your product (or your service).
This is also really important for all freelancers, soloists and entrepreneurs – for actors and models this is true anyway!

Our time and society are heavily influenced by visual elements ! Many of our decisions are subconsciously driven. Photos also address the subconscious segment of our brain. Therefore photos can have a positive effect – if they differ from the usual “uniform mush” and if they are genuine. And we can take advantage of that!

The Beginning
Your headshot is going to be your virtual representation whenever you are not there in person, it stands for your personality
That’s why it’s important for me to understand where you come from, what you stand for and what it is that you want to achieve.

Apart from that it’s now that you can calm down a bit if you had some stressful moments on the roads.
The Lighting Setup
A premium headshot needs a professional lighting setup.
My lighting customized to your personality is based on the principles used in beauty photography.
My studio is equipped with modern LED lighting technology in high-end daylight quality. This will ensure you are wrapped into a cocoon of soft light during the shooting and look your best.
The Coaching
Do you know which of your faces side is your “good” one?
Don’t you? We’ll find out.
I’ll show you how to present yourself the best. I’ll show you what you need to do in order to achieve a genuine great impression.
From time to time we’ll check the progress made on a large computer screen (the small displays on the back of the cameras won’t do it).
Based on the shots we will discuss what works and what we might be doing better in order to achieve the desired result.
Expression and Micro Expression
The most important detail in your headshot is your expression. That’s why we will spend a serious amount of time working on your expression.
It’s the right combination of body posture, mouth, eyes and eyebrows that we will be working on.
The goal is to to present yourself confident, appoachable and professional.
I’m not a friend of telling you “1,2,3…”, “cheese” or “smile” as this doesn’t transport any energy into the shot. So you won’t hear that from me instead I’ll use some different approach that will work way better.
The Process of Selection
We will be reviewing your images in little breaks during the shooting.
We already have selected the best images and at the very end of the session we will continue to reduce it further to the very best ones.
I’ll support you with my trained eye and guide you through this process.
And finally it’s up to you to decide which and how many images you need.
The Retouching Process
There’s nothing that can destroy a great image more than bad retouching.
The images of your choice will be developed and worked on with great care.
If necessary, I’ll do some color- and exposure corrections, minor skin blemishes, flyaway hairs and eyeglass reflections will be fixed, removed or softened. Probably some adjustments on evening out different skin tones will be made.
Finally your headshots will receive my individual look that ensures you’ll look like the best version of yourself without looking fake.

At first glance, a professional headshot of course seems like a certain financial investment.
Whatever you want to achieve, a premium professional headshot will most likely support you in achieving your goals.

Das Shooting mit Dietmar war eine spannende und ebenso aufschlussreiche Erfahrung. Er versteht sein „Handwerk“ absolut. Während des Shootings konnte ich mir noch nicht genau vorstellen, wie das Ergebnis später aussehen würde, aber ich muss sagen, die Bilder sind fantastisch geworden.
